Succulent Gem

15,00

The “Gem” succulent (typically a Gasteraloe or Haworthia hybrid) is a striking, highly resilient plant native to South Africa. Its defining feature is a perfect, star-shaped rosette of thick, dark green leaves beautifully decorated with textured white speckles. Planted in a stylish glossy pot, this small architectural beauty makes a perfect, modern addition to any desk or windowsill.

Place it in bright, indirect light — while it enjoys some morning or evening sun, harsh midday rays can scorch its dark leaves. Water it very sparingly, ensuring the soil dries out completely down to the bottom of the pot before watering again. It thrives in dry indoor air, so never mist it; water sitting in the center of the rosette can easily cause the plant to rot. Feed once a month during spring and summer with a diluted cactus fertiliser.

If the leaves become mushy, yellow, and translucent, you are overwatering the plant. If the tips turn brown and crispy, it may be getting too much direct sun. Caution: depending on the exact hybrid, it can be mildly toxic. ✓ May cause mild stomach upset in cats and dogs if ingested — best to keep out of reach of your pets.
