Chamaedorea Elegans

4,50

Chamaedorea elegans (parlour palm) is a compact indoor palm native to the tropical forests of Mexico and Central America. It grows slowly and stays small — reaching 60–120 cm in a pot — making it ideal for a desk, shelf, or a cosy corner. Its delicate feathery fronds bring a light tropical feel without taking up much space.

Place it in partial shade or bright indirect light — the parlour palm is one of the few palms that thrives away from the window. Direct sun scorches the leaves. Water every 7–10 days when the top layer of soil has dried out. Do not overwater — the roots rot quickly. During the heating season, mist the leaves a few times a week or use a humidifier nearby. Feed once a month from spring through summer with a palm or foliage plant fertiliser.

Brown leaf tips are a sign of dry air, not disease — trim them with scissors at an angle. Safe for people, cats, and dogs. ✓
