Pink hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla) — a lush flowering shrub with large rounded flower heads in a soft pink shade. The plant is well established and budding up — generous blooming is on the way. After the season it can be planted in the garden or kept on the balcony, where it will flower again next year.

The golden rule with hydrangeas is plenty of water. Water generously every 2–3 days, never letting the soil dry out, and always empty the saucer straight away. Place in bright indirect light, away from harsh midday sun and radiators — the flowers wilt quickly in heat. Feed every two weeks with a specialist hydrangea fertiliser. Pink colour is maintained in neutral or slightly alkaline soil — avoid acidic fertilisers.

If the leaves start to droop, water immediately — hydrangeas recover fast. ⚠ All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested — keep away from children and pets.
