Fritillaria is an elegant spring bulb plant native to the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Grown as a beautiful single-stem potted plant, its defining feature is its nodding, bell-shaped blooms, which often display a unique checkerboard pattern or a striking crown of foliage. It adds a sophisticated, slightly exotic touch to any indoor space.

Place it in a bright spot with indirect sunlight — a cooler room will help the blooms last much longer. Water moderately, keeping the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged, as the underground bulb is prone to rotting in standing water. It doesn’t require high humidity or fertilizer while in bloom.

If the lower leaves turn yellow and mushy, the most likely cause is overwatering. Caution: The bulb and plant are toxic to humans. ✓ Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested — keep the pot out of reach of pets.
