Asplenium

€40,00

Asplenium (Asplenium nidus) is a tropical fern native to Asia and Australia, commonly known as the bird’s nest fern. Its broad, glossy bright-green fronds fan out from a central rosette that really does resemble a nest. It’s a great pick for a bathroom, kitchen, or any spot that doesn’t get direct sun.

Place it in shade or bright indirect light — direct rays scorch the leaves. Water 1–2 times a week, keeping the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged; always empty the saucer after watering. The most important thing is humidity: in dry rooms, mist the leaves regularly or set the pot on a tray of damp pebbles. From spring through summer, feed once a month with a liquid foliage fertiliser at half strength.

It grows slowly and only needs repotting every 2 years. Handle the fronds gently — they bruise easily. The plant is safe for people, cats, and dogs. ✓
