Asplenium

15,00

Asplenium nidus, known as the bird’s nest fern, is a tropical fern with broad, whole, glossy leaves in deep green, growing in a rosette from the centre. In nature it grows on tree trunks in the humid tropical forests of Asia. One of the few ferns that handles dry air and partial shade well — perfect for a bathroom, kitchen, or darker corner.

Place it in partial shade or indirect light — direct sun scorches the leaves. Water moderately: every 7–10 days when the top layer of soil has dried out. Pour water around the edge of the pot, never into the centre of the rosette — moisture at the crown causes rot. Always empty the saucer after watering. Mist the leaves occasionally during the heating season. Feed once a month from spring through summer with a foliage plant fertiliser.

Brown leaf tips are a sign of dry air, not disease. Safe for people, cats, and dogs. ✓
